Today, 27th August 2009, we will achieve three key milestones in spreading the message of peace and Peace Day 21 September.

For the first time in the UAE, support for global Peace Day will be successfully launched when The Scene Club host a special screening of Peace One Day tonight, our website peaceday.ae is launched and our Peace Day UAE films, directed by Ali Mostafa, will also be screened for the first time (and you can view them on this website peaceday.ae)
The screening of Peace One Day is an amazing start, as over 500 people including ambassadors and ministers in the UAE will view the film tonight.

Also H.H Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Higher Education will send a message of solidarity to the initiative via film, which will also be screened.
The Peace Day UAE committee and The Scene Club team have been working together to make this happen and it really is a great achievement.
We also have been working hard to get the website up and running, thanks to the team at Flip Media, and we will continue to write and inform you of all the activities running up to September 21, the International Day of Peace.
Please feel free to comment on our blogs and articles and add your voice to furthering the cause of peace in the region.
I feel it is apt to quote Ted Kennedy today, who said the following words about his brother, Bobby Kennedy;
"My brother need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life, to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it,"
As a global citizen, these words have an impact on me, remember, each and everyone of us can make a difference, no matter what our position is in the world.
Peace,
Claire
